British singer Jess Glynne is calling out the Trump administration for what she says is a twisted use of her music.

The 35-year-old artist voiced outrage after the White House used her hit song “Hold My Hand” in a meme promoting ICE deportation flights. The post, shared to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, featured a video of immigrants being restrained and boarded onto planes, set to the upbeat track and overlaid with the caption: “When ICE books you a one-way Jet2 holiday to deportation. Nothing beats it!”

Glynne responded on her Instagram Stories Wednesday with a screenshot of the post and a sharply worded message.

“This post honestly makes me sick,” she wrote. “My music is about love, unity, and spreading positivity — never about division or hate.”

The meme was modeled after a viral trend featuring a 2024 Jet2 Holidays commercial that uses Glynne’s song as its soundtrack. On TikTok, users have humorously paired the ad’s cheerful tone with clips of travel disasters and vacation mishaps. Glynne had previously leaned into the joke, even using the format to promote her latest single, “Back to Me,” and playfully referencing the discount line from the commercial: “It’s £200 off for a family of 4.”

She even teamed up with Zoë Lister — the voice behind Jet2’s signature tagline — during a lighthearted radio interview last week on Capital FM, where they bonded over the meme’s unexpected popularity.

But Glynne made it clear the White House version crossed the line.

Online backlash to the post came quickly, with critics calling the meme “gross,” “cringe,” and “offensive.” One user quipped, “What if Jet2 sues you?” while another — identifying as a Trump supporter — admitted the meme was “a miss.”

The post is the latest example of the administration’s controversial approach to social media messaging around immigration enforcement. So far, neither ICE nor Jet2 Holidays has commented publicly on the meme or the use of Glynne’s music.
