A snow plow driver in Connecticut allegedly went on a chaotic early-morning rampage — and authorities say it happened on his very first day on the job.

According to online court records, Mark Keene, 46, of Fairfield, was arrested Jan. 8 and charged with reckless driving and operating under the influence.

The charges stem from a Dec. 28 incident around 7:15 a.m., when Keene was plowing snow in his truck near Glen Ridge Road and Tahmore Drive in Fairfield, according to a warrant obtained by News 12 Connecticut, ABC 7 and CT Insider.

Investigators allege Keene drove off the road onto a home’s walkway, crossed the front yard, and then struck the front porch of a neighboring house — causing one side of the porch to collapse.

Video described by News 12 Connecticut shows the truck hitting the porch, driving over a stone wall, and continuing through the adjacent property. The footage also shows the truck speeding across a street and slamming into a sedan parked in a driveway, pushing it into a closed garage before coming to rest beneath an SUV inside, according to the report.

Police who responded to a 911 call said they found Keene sitting inside the truck, allegedly saying he “had no idea that he was just involved in a collision,” the warrant states. Officers also reported signs of impairment, including slurred speech and pinpoint pupils, according to the warrant.

Soon afterward, the warrant alleges Keene began foaming at the mouth and turning blue, prompting an officer to administer Narcan and call an ambulance. During transport, he allegedly fought with EMTs and had to be restrained, the warrant says. He also allegedly bit an officer’s hands and arms, according to the same document.

Later, Keene told police that before heading out to plow driveways, he argued with his girlfriend over the phone, the warrant states. He then allegedly admitted he did three “bumps” of cocaine — and said the next thing he remembered was being in the driveway where police located him, according to the warrant.

Toxicology testing later came back positive for cocaine, benzodiazepines and cannabinoids, the warrant alleges.

The incident occurred on Keene’s first day working for a landscaping company, News 12 Connecticut reported. The owner told police he had hired Keene the day before and instructed him to plow and sand two specific driveways — which authorities say were never completed, according to the warrant.

Keene turned himself in on Jan. 8 and posted $15,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 25. It was not immediately clear whether he has retained an attorney who can comment on the case.
