In a fiery Truth Social post, former President Donald Trump lashed out at his own supporters, calling them “weaklings” and accusing them of falling for what he described as a “radical left” conspiracy surrounding Jeffrey Epstein.
“My past supporters have bought into this bullshit, hook, line and sinker,” Trump wrote, expressing frustration over growing accusations that his administration is hiding critical information about the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender.
Trump, who once associated with Epstein, is now facing backlash from within his MAGA base, many of whom believe the government is concealing the names of high-profile individuals allegedly connected to Epstein’s trafficking network. The uproar was sparked after the Justice Department announced last week that Epstein did not leave behind a “client list”—a statement that contradicted earlier remarks from Attorney General Pam Bondi, who had previously claimed such a list was “sitting on my desk.” Bondi later clarified that she had been referring to general case materials.
The president’s decision to attack his base is notable, given that he has long encouraged suspicion of “deep state” operatives and elite cover-ups. But this latest conspiracy theory, which Trump himself helped fuel during his campaign, now appears to be turning against him.
The rift between Trump and segments of his core supporters reflects growing unease and mistrust over what many believe is a lack of transparency—and a perceived betrayal by the very figure who once promised to “drain the swamp.”
