Vice President J.D. Vance will kick off the Trump administration’s promotional blitz for its sweeping legislative package, the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” with a visit to West Pittston, Pennsylvania, next Wednesday, according to an official from his office.
Vance is scheduled to hold a rally-style event at a local manufacturing facility in Luzerne County, a key swing region in the battleground state.
“This visit is part of a broader administration effort to highlight the enormous benefits the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ delivers to the American people,” the official said.
The trip marks one of the first high-profile attempts by the Trump White House to sell the bill to the public since President Trump signed it into law on July 4. Trump had celebrated its passage during a rally in Iowa days earlier, promising voters they would soon “realize the level of success and popularity of this bill.”
Democrats have slammed the legislation, arguing it slashes Medicaid coverage for low-income Americans while handing out major tax cuts to the wealthy. But the Trump administration is aiming to reframe the narrative, with Vance now leading the charge.
The Pennsylvania stop will also follow President Trump’s own visit to Pittsburgh, where he is set to headline Sen. Dave McCormick’s Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for Vance touted the bill as a landmark achievement:
“The One Big Beautiful Bill gives working Americans the largest tax cut in history, boosts our industry, and arms the Administration with the tools it needs to undo the Biden Border Crisis. Only President Trump could have unified the Republican Party to achieve this massive victory. Vice President Vance is looking forward to celebrating this success with the people of Pennsylvania.”
Notably, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, a moderate Republican from Pennsylvania, was one of only two House Republicans to vote against the final version of the bill.
