Woman Has Stomach ‘Cramps’—Then Comes Biggest Shock of Her Life

A woman who had no idea she was pregnant went to the hospital thinking she was suffering from severe cramps—only to leave two days later with a baby in her arms.

While many women can recall every stage of pregnancy and the visible changes to their bodies, that wasn’t the case for Keionna Dickerson. For nine months, she continued to have regular periods that seemed completely normal, her weight stayed the same, and she never developed a noticeable baby bump.

All the while, she was actually expecting.

Dickerson said she didn’t experience typical pregnancy symptoms, though she did tell Newsweek she had “constant pains” in her uterus. Because they felt so similar to menstrual cramps, she assumed they were just part of her usual cycle.

“The bad cramps I experienced felt like period cramps and hunger pains put together,” Dickerson said. “That’s how I ended up at the hospital because I thought something was wrong with me.”

When the pain became unbearable, she decided to get checked out. It was unlike anything she’d experienced before, and she had no idea what was causing it.

To her complete surprise, doctors told her it wasn’t period pain at all—she was in labor.

“I went in for pain and came out the hospital two days later with a newborn,” she said.

Because her baby’s heart rate kept dropping, Dickerson ultimately needed a cesarean section. Her son, named Champion, was delivered safely and is now healthy and thriving.

Didn’t know I was pregnant and gave birth to my handsome baby boy a few months ago. Had a period for nine months but no pregnancy signs. I was literally my same size. Went to the hospital because of bad cramps and whole time I was in labor. They put me to sleep because I had an emergency c section because his hearteate was dropping and a few hours later my Champion was born. I am Thankful that he came out healthy and alive. 🥹❤️ #fyp#crypticpregnancy#viral#thanksgiving

The sudden twist has left Dickerson stunned. She had been going about her life as normal for months, unaware that everything was about to change.

Since welcoming her fourth child, Dickerson has been sharing her story on social media (@velvet.lover5 on TikTok), opening up about her experience with a cryptic pregnancy. Her videos—especially one featuring baby Champion—have gone viral, drawing more than 485,900 views and 45,800 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.

“Now that I look back at it, it was honestly so smooth had I known about it,” Dickerson told Newsweek. “I showed no symptoms, had no weight gain, still had heavy bleeding each month on my period, and I didn’t have a bump. I’m still trying to wrap my head around all this, but overall, I’m happy.”

The reaction online has far exceeded what she expected, and Champion has already become a little internet star thanks to his dramatic and unexpected arrival.

In just a few days, Dickerson’s TikTok video has racked up more than 380 comments, with viewers eager to ask questions and understand what the last nine months were like for her.

One person commented: “I will never be able to wrap my head around how this is possible but congratulations!”

Another wrote: “That is so scary! Going to the hospital for stomach pain then leaving with a newborn, and you’ve not got all the stuff you need! Super mom you are!”

Someone else added: “My genuine worst fear, I’m glad everything worked out for you.”
