A woman is debating whether she should help her neighbor after several unpleasant experiences in the past.
She shared her story on the “Am I Being Unreasonable?” forum on the U.K.-based community site Mumsnet.com, where people go for advice about personal issues. In her post, she explained that her neighbor has a habit of gossiping and creating drama.
According to the woman, the neighbor has sometimes ignored her and even created a neighborhood Facebook group that “everyone was invited to join, apart from me.”
Recently, the neighbor asked her husband if guests could park in their driveway during her child’s upcoming birthday party. He told her to check with his wife, since she works from home. The woman then asked others online, “Am I being unreasonable to say no to her?”

Some Mumsnet users suggested she should use this as a chance to make peace.
“Rise above it; say yes if it only inconveniences you in a minor way,” one commenter wrote.
Another added, “If it’s inconvenient, say no. If not, what’s the harm?”
Others, however, felt she shouldn’t feel pressured to do a favor for someone who has excluded her.
“If she’s going out of her way to ignore/exclude you then she’s got [nerve] to ask for favors. Just say no.”
Another commenter said, “If she asks I’d say no, and I’d also make a point of parking on the road that day.”
