At least six people were injured in a mass shooting in northwest Baltimore on Saturday evening.
Baltimore police responded around 8:46 p.m. local time to reports of gunfire at the intersection of Spaulding and Queensbury Avenues, where they found six victims, Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley said during a news conference.
The injured included four men and one woman, ages 23 to 52, and a five-year-old girl who was shot in the hand. Worley noted, “Thankfully, it doesn’t appear that [the girl’s] injury is very serious,” according to WBFF FOX45 Baltimore.
One victim, a 38-year-old man, was critically injured and taken to the hospital for surgery, ABC News reported, citing Baltimore police. The others were also treated at local hospitals for their wounds.

“Both our homicide and district detective units are on the scene,” Worley said. “We have very little information at this point. All we know is there were multiple rounds fired and multiple victims.”
Police forensic investigators collected evidence and marked shell casings at the scene, while officers from the Northern District responded to the 5100 block of Queensbury Avenue. No suspects have been apprehended, and the investigation continues.
Worley shared that the shooting appeared to happen when someone “opened fire” on a group of people sitting outside eating crabs. Authorities suspect the victims were targeted, but no further details about suspects have been released.
“The detectives will be at the hospital questioning any possible victims and witnesses to piece together what happened tonight,” Worley said.
Access to the area remains restricted as the Baltimore Police Department continues their investigation.
“BPD is scene of a mass shooting at the intersection of Spaulding & Queensbury Avenues. Multiple streets in the area are closed to the public. Please avoid the area. More information to follow as it becomes available,” the department posted on X.
Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to call the anonymous Metro Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-866-7LOCKUP or contact the homicide unit directly.
The investigation remains ongoing.
