Firefighters in Illinois recently came to the rescue of a kitten trapped in a tight spot.
“[On Sept. 23], Red Shift Station 8 had a very unique call,” the Glenview Fire Department shared on Facebook on Sept. 24.
The post explained that two men arrived at Station 8 the day before, carrying a tire “with a kitten stuck in the hole of the wheel.”
The men told firefighters that a stray cat had recently given birth to five kittens in their garage, and one of the kittens had become trapped in the wheel. Lieutenant Render, along with firefighters Keogh and Chapman, quickly sprang into action.

“It took the E8 crew about 20 minutes to get him out using Dawn dish soap and water,” the post said.
The kitten was freed unharmed and was soon reunited with his family.
In the post’s comments, a man named Karol Bakowski, who said he was one of the men who brought the kitten to the fire department, shared an update on the little feline.

“I can say, yes, he [the kitten] is all good and returned to his mom,” Bakowski wrote, adding, “Later the next day the mom returned for the kittens and took them somewhere safe.”
Bakowski noted that the kittens were in their care only briefly, during which they fed them “kitten formula” and “soft food.”

“That specific cat is called ‘Yoda’ for the way he looked when he was wet. The other four siblings have names as well,” he continued.
“Thank you so much to the Glenview Fire Department and everyone that helped!!” he concluded.
