A 40-year-old Arkansas woman and her two young children were found shot to death in their upscale Bonanza home — just one day after she attended a final divorce hearing.

Around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, deputies from the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a request for a welfare check at a residence on the 1100 block of 1st Ave. in Bonanza, according to a news release.

When no one answered the door, two workers at the property eventually allowed deputies inside. There, officers discovered the bodies of the woman — identified as Charity Beallis — and her two children, all with apparent gunshot wounds, the release stated.

The children were not named in the documents, but online court records from the divorce case indicate they were born in 2019 and are believed to be about 6 years old.

Authorities said autopsies would be conducted to determine the official causes of death for all three.

Investigators have already executed several search warrants, with more expected, the sheriff’s office said, adding that interviews have been conducted and additional ones are anticipated as information “is still being gathered.”

No arrests have been made, and officials have not publicly identified any suspects.

Court records reviewed by local outlets show that Charity filed for divorce from her husband, 56-year-old Dr. Randall Beallis, on March 5, 2025, according to documents first cited by 5News.

The couple appeared for a final divorce hearing on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Sebastian County Courthouse in Fort Smith — the day before Charity and her children were found dead in their home, 5News reported.

On Thursday, Dec. 4, one day after deputies discovered the bodies, Randall’s attorney filed a motion to dismiss the divorce case, stating that “the plaintiff passed away,” according to court records cited by the outlet.

A court filing from March also shows that Charity had requested full custody of the children and a protective order for herself and the children after Randall was arrested and charged in a domestic violence case.

Online jail records indicate he was initially charged with aggravated assault on a family member, third-degree domestic battery and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.

According to online court documents in the criminal case, Randall allegedly choked Charity and caused her physical injury on Feb. 16, 2025, as reported by 5News and KNWA FOX24.

In October, he pleaded guilty to third-degree battery. He was given a one-year suspended sentence, ordered to pay $1,500 in fines and instructed to have no contact with his estranged wife or her family members unless allowed by a valid court order.

The couple married in 2015 and stopped living together in February 2025, according to online divorce filings.

In August 2025, Charity publicly commented on an unrelated 5News Facebook post, writing, “I’m living this battle right now. I am the victim, yet I’ve been treated like the problem while the criminal — a local doctor — is being shielded by the very system that’s supposed to protect us.” She said she had tried to contact Prosecuting Attorney Daniel Shue but claimed “he won’t even accept a letter from me.”

“My voice, as the victim, has been shut out. This is not just about me — this is about a system that protects offenders and rejects victims. Lives are at stake, including the lives of young children. The case is public information: State of Arkansas vs. Randy Beallis, Case No. 66GCR-25-31 (available on Court Connect). Transparency matters. Accountability matters. Victims matter,” she continued.

John Powell, Charity’s adult son, told KNWA FOX24 that his mother did everything she could over the past year to protect herself and the two younger children.

“My mother fought for nine months, the last nine months, to save her life and them babies, and nothing happened,” Powell told the outlet. “Now all three of them is dead.”

He added that he believes his mother would have fought “tooth and nail” for the children. “She went out with a fight,” he said.

Shue and Randall’s attorney did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
