Bad Bunny is gearing up to bring his signature energy to the Super Bowl stage.
The 31-year-old rapper, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has been announced as the halftime performer for Super Bowl LX, set to take place early next year. The NFL confirmed the news during the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Sept. 28, teasing the announcement on social media shortly before.
In an Instagram post, Bad Bunny was seen perched on a goalpost at the beach as a vibrant sunset framed the scene. As the camera pulled back, text over the video hinted at his upcoming halftime performance, sponsored by Apple Music.
The musician also addressed the gig on X, writing, “I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States” — referencing his decision not to tour the country for his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour due to President Donald Trump’s use of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for immigration enforcement.
Super Bowl LX is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 8, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
The last halftime show was headlined by Kendrick Lamar, featuring guest appearances from SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and Mustard, marking the most-viewed performance in halftime show history. Previous performers include Usher in 2024 and Rihanna in 2023. In 2022, Lamar led a star-studded set with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige.

Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation partnered with the NFL in 2019, giving the rap mogul the role of the league’s “live music entertainment strategist” while also assisting with social-justice initiatives. In this role, Jay-Z has the final say on who performs during the Super Bowl halftime show.
Jay-Z praised Bad Bunny, saying, “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”
Bad Bunny reflected on what the performance means to him, stating: “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”
Earlier this month, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell commented on the possibility of Taylor Swift headlining the coveted halftime slot, telling the Today show, “We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent. And obviously, she would be welcome at any time.”
Super Bowl LX airs Sunday, Feb. 8.
