At just 19 years old, Barron Trump towers at an impressive 6 feet 7 inches, sparking widespread curiosity about the youngest Trump’s eating habits and daily routine. Often seen standing head and shoulders above his famous family, Barron’s height has become a frequent topic of conversation — and even his father has weighed in on the reason behind it.

Donald Trump Credits Barron’s Height to Grandma’s Cooking

In an interview with The Telegraph, former President Donald Trump revealed that Barron grew up enjoying the home-cooked meals of his maternal grandmother, Amalija Knavs, who passed away in January 2024 at the age of 78.

“Boy, did she take care of Barron,” Trump said. “That’s how he got so tall — he only ate her food.”

Melania Trump had also praised her mother’s cooking over the years, describing it as her “passion.” “With her passion for cooking, she transported every dish to new heights using spices from her garden,” Melania once said. “I’m fortunate that she taught me many of her secrets to creating the signature delights.”

A Sparse School Diet

Despite his growth, Barron’s school eating habits were unexpectedly minimal. According to a Daily Mail report, the cafeteria at his former high school, Oxbridge Academy, offered a diverse menu — from American to Asian and Indian cuisines — along with salad and fruit bars, and even steak on special occasions.

Still, a friend revealed that Barron would routinely skip meals. “Barron always went to the lunchroom to sit with his friends, but he never ate any lunch,” the friend said. “He never explained why — just said he’d wait until he got home to eat. It was a little unusual.”

Life on Campus: Barron at NYU

Now a college student at NYU, Barron remains somewhat of a mystery on campus. Kaya Walker, former president of NYU College Republicans, told Vanity Fair that Barron keeps a low profile.

“He’s sort of like an oddity on campus,” Walker said. “He goes to class, then he goes home.”

Walker added that a professor had commented that Barron “doesn’t really belong here,” suggesting he may be having a difficult time adjusting to college life and prefers to stay under the radar.
