A bride was surprised when her son said something she never expected just before her wedding.
Bride Chase Dickson, 24, and groom Eli Dickson, 26, both had children before getting married, so they wanted to include their kids in their big day on Saturday, Sept. 6, at The Monroe on 415th in McMinnville, Tennessee. But Chase’s first moment with her 4-year-old son, Denver Dickson, turned out to be special for a completely unexpected reason.
“When you were expecting a super sweet first look with your son but he has another idea,” Chase wrote over a viral video of her pre-ceremony interaction with Denver, adding, “The one thing I was NOT expecting him to say 😭😭😭 at least I get to show him this funny moment when he gets older 😂💞.”
In the clip, which has 450,000 likes and 3.8 million views on TikTok, Denver gives his mom a big hug, wrapping his arms around her waist. Then he pulls back, places one hand on Chase’s stomach, and asks, “Momma, are you having another baby?”
The question was the last thing Chase wanted to hear while wearing her wedding dress. She looked at the camera in disbelief before laughing.
“Mom, you’re having another baby,” Denver said as he patted her stomach.
“Don’t say that to me right now,” Chase replied. Denver insisted, “Yes, you are.”
Denver explained, ” ‘Cause your belly’s big.”
Chase playfully told her son to be quiet and bent down to explain that she was not pregnant.
“I love you,” she said. “No, Mom and Daddy are getting married today.”

Chase told PEOPLE that Denver usually “hypes” her up when she’s “all dressed up,” so she expected his first reaction to seeing her in a wedding dress would be a compliment.
“I wasn’t super surprised at the comment itself because he frequently talks about wanting another sibling, but it definitely shocked me for him to say that straight out of the gate as soon as he saw me,” Chase says. “I was just praying he was wrong!”
It was no surprise to Chase that her video went viral.
“I’ve been sharing my life online for the past four years and I know my community was going to get a kick out of that video!” she says. “Everyone was laughing watching the video. It’s something Denver would 100% say, all love from him though.”
