Bunnie Xo shared that in December 2025, she experienced a bout of suicidal thoughts while taking a GLP-1 medication.

“It was one of the darkest times of my life, and it was scary,” she said. “Before that, I prided myself on the fact that I only had anxiety — I never had depression. So when you get hit with suicidal ideation and visions… it was horrific.”

She described the difference, for her, between anxiety and depression: “You want to have anxiety because you’re scared to die. You don’t want to have depression because you literally don’t care if you die. So yeah, it was really dark.”

She said the experience felt especially intense because she hadn’t dealt with thoughts like that in years. “I haven’t had suicidal ideation like this since 2020,” she said. “That’s how bad it was.”

Bunnie added that she’s doing better now, but acknowledged that December was difficult.

She explained that she initially tried a GLP-1 because of her family history of diabetes and concerns about her own insulin levels. “Both my parents had diabetes,” she said. “So my insulin numbers are really crazy, and my body just cannot tolerate it.”

She also spoke candidly about the pressure she feels around body image. “I wish I could be part of the cool crowd and be skinny and not have a care in the world,” she said.

Bunnie ended with a message to anyone who may be struggling: “I just want people to know you’re not alone. Everybody goes through ups and downs and you are worth staying here. Please stay. You’re here for a reason. And do not make a permanent decision based on a temporary emotion — because it will go away.”
