Charlie Kirk: Special Prosecutor for Epstein Scandal Will Create ‘Harmony’ Between Trump, MAGA Base

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk says appointing a special prosecutor to investigate the Jeffrey Epstein scandal could help bridge a growing divide between Donald Trump and his most ardent supporters.

Speaking on The Charlie Kirk Show this week, Kirk acknowledged that many in the MAGA movement feel Trump has underestimated the importance of the Epstein case. “There’s a disconnect,” Kirk said. “Some in the base think Epstein matters more to them than to the president. Others see the case as a doorway into the deeper forces that tried to destroy Trump’s presidency.”

“The reason the base is so focused on Epstein,” Kirk explained, “is because they believe he was tied to the very same establishment forces that tried to rig the election, impeach Trump, and sabotage his administration.”

According to Kirk, Trump views the focus on Epstein with suspicion — believing some may be using it as a distraction or even a political trap. Yet Kirk insists the two sides are more aligned than they seem. “Trump is willing to appoint a special prosecutor. That shows he’s taking it seriously — even if he’s also wary of how it’s being used.”

In a clip played during the show, Trump appeared exasperated by the media’s focus on Epstein:

“If a document is credible, [Attorney General] Pam Bondi can release it — that’s good. But he’s dead, he’s gone. Republicans are falling for another Democrat distraction like ‘Russia, Russia, Russia.’”

Kirk interpreted that not as a dismissal of the issue, but a warning against letting it overshadow Trump’s broader agenda. “He’s probably talking about some in Congress — maybe even Speaker Johnson — who are using this as political cover rather than truth-seeking,” Kirk said.

Kirk emphasized that for grassroots conservatives, Epstein is a symbol — not the main focus. “We don’t care about Epstein the person. We care about what he represented: a corrupt network, a shadow state, possibly with foreign ties. We want to understand how it connects to the bigger machinery that tried to take Trump down.”

In a post on X, Kirk added that the MAGA movement sees the Epstein case as a missed opportunity by the deep state to cover its tracks:

“They were sloppy. Epstein’s death, his funding, and connections — it’s all a thread. If we pull it, the whole deep-state fabric starts to unravel.”

He concluded that the MAGA base’s obsession with Epstein isn’t a betrayal of Trump but a call for deeper accountability. “This case is a symbol of everything Trump has fought against. If he leads the charge for real transparency, he’ll unify and energize a base that’s grown cynical about justice.”

“Epstein represents more than a scandal — he’s the entry point to the rot. And Trump can be the one to expose it all,” Kirk said.
