A Cinnabon employee in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, has been fired after a viral video showed her directing a racist slur at two Somali customers.

The incident was captured in a TikTok video posted on Saturday, Dec. 6. In the clip, the worker calls herself “a racist” before using a derogatory term toward the customers inside the bakery.

“I am racist and you are a n—–,” the employee says in the video. “I am racist and I’ll say it to the whole entire world. Don’t be disrespectful.”

She then raises both middle fingers at the customers and tells them to “suck it” while gesturing toward her crotch, the video shows.

When one of the customers asks, “What’s wrong with you?” the worker responds, “What the f— is wrong with you, you f—— ugly bitch.”

Cinnabon publicly responded to the footage in the comments section of the TikTok post and on X, writing, “We’ve seen the disturbing video from the Cinnabon bakery in Ashwaubenon … and we do not condone this behavior. The former employee was immediately terminated by the franchise owner.”

“Their actions do not reflect our values or the welcoming experience every guest deserves,” the company added.

The TikTok user who shared the video said that one of the targeted customers is their cousin. In a follow-up video, the poster alleged that the confrontation began when the customer asked for more caramel on her order, and that the worker went on to insult the woman’s hijab, calling it a “witch-craft bandana.”

A GoFundMe has been set up to support the couple. According to the fundraiser description, the customers — identified as a Black Somali Muslim couple — had stopped at Cinnabon while out shopping when the interaction took place.

The organizer wrote that the female customer ordered a caramel pecan cinnamon roll, but the employee “hardly” added any caramel. When she politely asked for more, the situation escalated and the worker allegedly began mocking her religious headscarf.

“My cousin called me crying after this incident,” the organizer wrote, describing the employee’s behavior as “unacceptable.”

“My cousin is traumatized and is afraid to be outside now…. the racism is getting out of hand nowadays,” they added.
