U.S. President Donald Trump intensified his public feud with former President Barack Obama on Monday by sharing an AI-generated video that depicts FBI agents arresting Obama inside the Oval Office.

The video, posted on Trump’s Truth Social account, opens with a clip of Obama stating, “especially the President is above the law,” followed by various U.S. officials echoing the phrase “no one is above the law.” It then transitions into a digitally altered scene showing two FBI agents handcuffing Obama in the Oval Office, with Trump seated and smiling in the background. The video ends with a fabricated image of Obama in an orange prison jumpsuit behind bars.

No disclaimer was included to indicate that the video was fake, drawing strong backlash from critics who condemned Trump’s post as “deeply irresponsible.”

The post comes just weeks after Trump accused Obama of orchestrating “high-level election fraud.” Tensions escalated further last week when Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard alleged that top Obama-era officials fabricated the Trump-Russia collusion narrative after the 2016 election. She called for criminal trials against former members of the Obama administration.

“Americans will finally learn the truth about how, in 2016, intelligence was politicized and weaponized… laying the groundwork for a years-long coup against President Donald Trump,” Gabbard wrote on X.

Despite her claims, a 114-page report released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) offered a different picture. It stated that prior to the 2016 election, the U.S. Intelligence Community assessed that Russia was “probably not trying to influence the election by using cyber means.” A draft of the President’s Daily Brief from December 8, 2016, also concluded that Russia “did not impact recent U.S. election results” through cyberattacks on election infrastructure.
