President Donald Trump announced that he has signed letters to 12 countries outlining new tariff rates on exports to the United States—describing the messages as non-negotiable, “take it or leave it” offers.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One en route to New Jersey, Trump said the letters would be officially sent out on Monday but declined to name the countries involved, saying those details would be released at that time.

“I signed some letters and they will go out on Monday—probably 12,” Trump said. “Different amounts of money, different amounts of tariffs.”

The announcement comes amid stalled trade talks with key partners. A long-anticipated agreement with India has failed to materialize, while European Union diplomats said Friday that negotiations with the Trump administration have hit a wall. To prevent a possible escalation, EU officials are now considering whether to extend current trade arrangements to avoid facing higher tariffs.

Trump initially indicated on Thursday that the first batch of tariff letters would be sent on Friday, a national holiday in the U.S., but the timeline has since shifted to next week, according to Reuters.
