Donald Trump is reportedly preparing to launch a new construction project in Washington, D.C. — a massive monument dubbed the “Arc de Trump” — which could carry a price tag of around $100 million, according to Axios.
Trump, 79, is said to be planning to fund the project through money raised from donors. An insider close to the former president told the outlet, “It’s what he’s talking about. There’s a small arch, a middle arch, and a large arch. And he likes the large one, of course, as long as it’s big and gold and white.”
Nicknamed the “Arc de Trump” for its resemblance to Paris’ Arc de Triomphe, the proposed monument would commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. It would reportedly sit in the middle of the Memorial Circle roundabout across the Potomac River from the Lincoln Memorial, connecting the U.S. Capitol to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. The structure would face the White House, according to reports from Time and the BBC.

Trump first introduced the concept in October while speaking to donors. “Every time somebody rides over that beautiful bridge to the Lincoln Memorial, they literally say something is supposed to be here,” he told the group, as reported by the BBC.
He presented several mockups of the arch, each featuring marble statues of eagles and a gold Lady Liberty figure at its center. The main difference among the models was size, with the largest version towering over the Lincoln Memorial. “This would be small, medium, and large… I happen to think the large by far looks the best,” Trump said, per Time.

CNN, citing a senior White House official, reported that the monument was Trump’s idea. “He came up with the design and has been part of the process every step of the way,” the official said.
While details such as the construction timeline and final cost remain unclear, architect Nicolas Leo Charbonneau of Harrison Design shared a watercolor rendering of the project on X, which Trump later reposted on Truth Social. Axios also reported that Trump has raised roughly $1.9 billion to fund various construction plans.
Those funds have already gone toward the construction of a 90,000-square-foot ballroom on the East Wing of the White House. Despite initial assurances that the East Wing would remain intact, demolition began in October to make way for the ballroom — a project estimated to cost around $200 million. One Axios source claimed Trump “over-fundraised for the ballroom, about $350 million.”

In addition to the ballroom, Trump has overseen renovations to the Rose Garden, which was rebranded in September as “The Rose Garden Club at the White House,” alongside other construction initiatives.
According to Axios, Trump’s fundraising shows no sign of slowing down. One source warned, “Donors should get ready. He’s coming for more. Sky’s the limit.”
