New emails released by the Department of Justice as part of its continuing disclosure of records tied to the investigation of sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein indicate that former prince Prince Andrew invited the disgraced financier to meet at Buckingham Palace shortly after Epstein completed a house-arrest sentence in 2010.

In June 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to solicitation of prostitution and solicitation of prostitution with a minor under 18. He was sentenced to 18 months in a minimum-security prison, released in 2009, and later served a period of house arrest that ended in August 2010.

Weeks after that, Epstein emailed Andrew to coordinate a meeting. In a message dated Sept. 27, 2010, Epstein wrote that he would “need private time” with Andrew and noted he was in London with three women. In the same email, Epstein asked Andrew — saved in Epstein’s contacts as “TheDuke” — whether he should bring the women “so as to add some life.”

In response, Andrew suggested meeting at Buckingham Palace, telling Epstein they would have “lots of privacy” there.

“I am just departing Scotland should be down by 1800. I’ll ring you when I get down if you can give me a number to ring,” Andrew wrote. “Alternatively we could have dinner at Buckingham Palace and lots of privacy.”

The emails are the latest DOJ-released materials to shed light on the relationship between Andrew and Epstein. In December, a photo of Andrew seated alongside Epstein co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell was made public; it appeared to show Epstein and Maxwell inside the saloon at Sandringham House, one of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s best-known royal estates.

Then, on Jan. 6, photographer Christopher Anderson shared images of Epstein’s desk — originally taken for an interview with Epstein that was later scrapped — showing correspondence between Epstein and Andrew.

The emails also show Andrew and Epstein discussing wages allegedly owed to a former staffer employed by Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson — a debt the emails indicate Epstein later helped resolve.

The latest revelations come after Andrew’s October 2025 announcement that he would stop using his royal titles and honors as scrutiny over his association with Epstein intensified. In a statement issued by Buckingham Palace, Andrew said “continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family.” Weeks later, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Andrew had been stripped of his titles.

Andrew has been publicly linked to Epstein since 2010, when photos of the two walking in Central Park surfaced amid renewed controversy surrounding Epstein’s 2008 plea deal, which allowed him to serve much of his sentence on “work release” from his Palm Beach office.
