A $50,000 reward is now being offered for information connected to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.
Nancy, the 84-year-old mother of television host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen Saturday night, Jan. 31, at her home in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson, Arizona. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department began an urgent search the next day, Sunday, Feb. 1.
At a press conference held Thursday, Feb. 5, FBI Agent Heith Janke said the FBI is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information that leads to Nancy’s recovery and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved.
After the briefing, the FBI posted on social media: “The #FBI is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance. She was last seen at her residence in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood of Tucson, Arizona, on the evening of January 31, 2026.”
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said investigators “believe Nancy is still out there” and emphasized the priority: “We want her home.”
Authorities said no suspect or person of interest has been identified. Nanos stressed that every lead is being pursued. “Every single lead is looked at,” he said, adding that investigators are “actively looking at everybody” and that, at this stage, no one has been ruled out.

Nanos also confirmed that blood found on the front steps of Nancy’s home was tested and matched to Nancy through DNA analysis.
He said Savannah Guthrie and her family have been cooperative and have done “everything we’ve asked of them.”
On Wednesday, Feb. 4, Savannah, 54, along with her siblings Camron and Annie, posted an emotional appeal on Instagram, asking for their mother’s safe return.
“We, too, have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media,” Savannah said in the video. She added that the family is ready to communicate, but asked for proof that Nancy is alive: “We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us.”
Savannah described her mother as “our heart and our home,” and raised concerns about her health, saying Nancy is 84 and medically fragile, lives with chronic pain, and needs medication.

An alleged ransom note was reportedly sent to Tucson station KOLD News 13. At the Feb. 5 press conference, the FBI said the note referenced a 5 p.m. deadline on Feb. 5 and included another deadline for Monday, Feb. 9.
KOLD anchor Mary Coleman later discussed the alleged note on CNN, saying it included a “dollar amount,” a “deadline,” and details that appeared to contain specifics that only an abductor might know—something she said raised concerns.
As the investigation continues, Savannah has stepped away from her planned assignment covering the 2026 Winter Olympics. She had been scheduled to co-host NBC’s opening ceremony coverage on Feb. 6 in Milan, Italy, alongside Terry Gannon, but will no longer attend.
Mary Carillo will instead join Gannon in Milan to host the opening ceremony coverage, according to a statement from NBC Olympics leadership on Feb. 4.
Savannah’s co-host Craig Melvin will also no longer travel to Milan as the search for Nancy continues.
