FBI Director Kash Patel has been in a relationship with Alexis Wilkins for more than two and a half years. The two met at an event in Nashville and have been together since at least 2023. Wilkins — who is 18 years younger than Patel — accompanied him when he was sworn in as FBI director in February 2025, as seen on her Instagram.

The couple drew recent attention after Patel allegedly used a government jet to visit Wilkins while she was performing the national anthem at a wrestling event in Pennsylvania. Following the reports, Patel defended her in a post on X, dismissing the “baseless rumors” and “fake news” surrounding their relationship.

She Grew Up in Arkansas

During a July 2025 appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Wilkins shared that while she spent part of her childhood in England and Switzerland, she primarily grew up in Arkansas.

“It was my favorite place I lived,” she said. “People ask me, ‘Oh, did you love Europe?’ Of course I did. But my favorite to live was by far Arkansas.”

In a video for media outlet PragerU, she added that she was raised as an only child in a Christian household.

She Graduated from Belmont University

Wilkins graduated from Belmont University in Nashville in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, according to her LinkedIn profile.

While studying there, she was part of the ethics debate team and earned awards including the Williams-Murray Writing Award and the Economics Critical Thinking Award.

She Is a Country Singer and Political Commentator

According to her LinkedIn, Wilkins has worked as a recording artist, performer, and songwriter since 2007. She released her debut EP, Grit, in April 2023.

Outside of her music career, she’s also active as a political commentator. Her social media bio lists her as a contributor to The Unity Project, an ambassador for Turning Point USA, and a board member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) since June 2025. She has also been a consultant for The American Border Story since May 2025.

How She Met Kash Patel

Wilkins told Megyn Kelly that she and Patel first met at an event hosted by a mutual friend in Nashville.

She recalled being struck by Patel’s straightforwardness, saying she appreciated that he was “so honest.”

“We both are very patriotic, so obviously there are things there that we definitely agree on,” she said.

Their Relationship Timeline

The couple has been together since at least early 2023. During her July 2025 interview, Wilkins mentioned that their relationship began “a little over two and a half years ago,” noting it started “long before” Patel became FBI director.

She laughed about how unexpected their journey has been, saying, “All of this was not on my bingo card — but here we are.”
