Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) issued a stark warning to his party this weekend, claiming the Democratic establishment is “losing generations” of supporters by distancing itself from Israel during its widening regional conflicts.

Speaking on Fox News, Fetterman positioned himself as a lonely outlier in the Democratic caucus, reaffirming his unwavering support for Operation Epic Fury—the U.S.-Israeli military campaign targeting Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure.

“I’m the only Democrat that is fully supportive of what the president has done,” Fetterman said, referring to the late-February strikes authorized by President Trump. “That stance has isolated me, but I’m going to follow the moral clarity of Israel.”

The Pennsylvania Senator’s comments highlight a deepening schism within the Democratic Party. While progressives and party leaders increasingly voice concerns over civilian casualties and regional stability, Fetterman characterized the campaign against Tehran as a moral necessity.

He compared the current strikes to the Allied effort to dismantle the Nazi regime during World War II. “I’ll be the one Democrat to celebrate continuing to eliminate leadership who just weeks ago executed thousands of their own young people,” Fetterman added, referencing the brutal suppression of domestic protests in Iran earlier this year.

Fetterman defended the military intervention as the only remaining option after decades of failed diplomacy. Citing reports of Iran possessing 900 pounds of weapons-grade uranium, he argued that sanctions and treaties had hit a dead end.

“Every single Democratic president agreed: we can never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear bomb,” Fetterman told Jewish Insider. “Sanctions, treaties, proxies—it never worked. Why can’t my party acknowledge that these strikes are a profound development?”

The Senator saved his sharpest criticism for California Governor Gavin Newsom and former Vice President Kamala Harris. Fetterman expressed “profound disappointment” over Newsom’s recent remarks characterizing Israel as an “apartheid state.”

“I expect our party is going to continue to back away from the moral clarity of Israel,” Fetterman warned. “If you have people in leadership describing Israel as an apartheid state, that is unsurprising but disappointing.”

As the 2026 midterm elections approach, Fetterman’s defiance signals a “country over party” strategy that may further alienate him from the progressive base but solidifies his role as the most prominent pro-Israel voice in the Senate’s Democratic wing.
