Heartbreaking images have been released by Spanish media showing the aftermath of the fatal car crash that claimed the lives of Liverpool star Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva in Spain’s Zamora province.
According to Spanish authorities, the incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. local time on Sunday. The Guardia Civil confirmed that the Lamborghini Jota was driving suffered a tire blowout while overtaking another vehicle, veered off the road, and burst into flames. Both men died at the scene.
The devastating news comes just weeks after Jota had married his longtime partner Rute Cardoso. The couple shared three young children.
Spanish outlet La Opinión de Zamora (LOZ) published the first image from the crash site, showing emergency services responding to the burning wreck. Firefighters from the nearby town of Rionegro del Puente rushed to the scene, but tragically, both men were already beyond help.
