Pamela Brooke Schronce, the 30-year-old owner of a South Carolina children’s clothing boutique, has been arrested 12 times since January 1, 2026, in connection with an expansive online retail scam. Authorities allege Schronce, dubbed the “Boutique Bandit” on social media, defrauded more than 50 customers across multiple counties of over $10,000 through her business, Thomas & Turner Boutique.

A Pattern of Deception

Investigators from several South Carolina law enforcement agencies report a consistent “modus operandi” involving the Belton-based merchant. According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Schronce allegedly collected payments for online orders that were never fulfilled.

When customers inquired about their missing merchandise, detectives say Schronce provided “fabricated excuses” to explain the delays. As frustrations grew, many victims reported being blocked by the boutique’s social media accounts when they attempted to seek refunds.

The investigation gained significant momentum in late 2025 and exploded into a flurry of litigation in early 2026. The scope of the alleged scheme includes:

  • Victim Count: At least 54 documented victims.
  • Financial Impact: A total confirmed loss of $10,491.53.
  • Geographic Reach: Charges filed in Anderson, Cherokee, Pickens, Fairfield, Spartanburg, Abbeville, and Greenville counties, as well as the city of Easley.

The most serious charge stems from Anderson County, where Schronce faces a felony count of obtaining property under false pretenses for the collective $10,000 loss. Other jurisdictions have leveled various misdemeanor and felony charges, including breach of trust and obtaining property under false tokens.

Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force Response

The sheer volume of complaints required coordination between several sheriff’s offices. Cherokee County Sheriff Steve Mueller noted the logistical challenge of processing the suspect due to the high demand for her appearance in different regions.

“Investigators were able to secure an arrest warrant on February 17, 2026, and we waited in line with all the other agencies to get her booked,” Sheriff Mueller stated.

Schronce’s most recent arrest occurred on Thursday, Feb. 25, in Pickens County. She was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond shortly thereafter.

Social Media Notoriety

While the legal proceedings are serious, the case has taken on a life of its own online. Schronce’s frequent and curated mugshots have gone viral, leading to the “Boutique Bandit” moniker. Social media users have tracked her revolving door of arrests, with some commenters jokingly suggesting the collection of photos resembled a “calendar.”

Next Steps in the Investigation

As of late February, it remains unclear if Schronce has retained legal counsel to address the mounting number of charges across the state. While she has been released on bond following several of her bookings, the felony charges in Anderson County carry the potential for significant prison time if she is convicted.

Authorities are urging any additional residents who may have purchased items from Thomas & Turner Boutique between September 2023 and December 2025 and did not receive them to contact their local sheriff’s department.
