“He’d Be Gone Today”: GOP Insiders Claim Secret Ballot Would Oust Trump Immediately; “He Has No Respect for the Constitution,” Says Former RNC Chair

Senior Republican figures are signaling a deepening rift with the White House, with internal reports suggesting President Donald Trump would face immediate removal from office if a secret ballot were held today.

Current and former party officials indicate that behind-the-scenes frustration with the administration has reached a critical flashpoint. Brian Karem, a veteran political columnist and former White House correspondent, reports that multiple GOP sources believe a confidential vote would yield enough support for impeachment and conviction.

While the current Republican leadership has publicly maintained a unified front, the internal calculus appears to be shifting. A source within the office of Senator John Thune (R-SD) indicated that while a formal vote is not currently “viable,” the possibility remains on the table.

“I wouldn’t bet on it [today],” the source told Karem, though they pointedly refused to rule out future action. Observers suggest that the political landscape following the upcoming midterm elections may provide the necessary cover for a “roll call” vote in the Senate, potentially moving the rebellion from the shadows into the public record.

The push for removal stems from what critics describe as an administration spiraling out of control. With approximately 1,000 days remaining in his term, Trump faces accusations of administrative incompetence and a blatant disregard for constitutional norms.

Marc Racicot, former Republican National Committee chairman and Governor of Montana, has emerged as a prominent voice of dissent. Racicot recently lambasted the President for disseminating an AI-generated image depicting himself as a Christ-like figure—an act Racicot characterized as “blasphemous” and politically reckless.

“This guy has no respect for any part of the Constitution,” Racicot stated, citing Trump’s previous claims of legal ignorance regarding his duty to defend the founding document. “He’s incompetent in terms of managing the government.”

As the internal crisis deepens, some GOP strategists are weighing the speed of the 25th Amendment against the lengthy process of impeachment. Racicot noted that while the 25th Amendment offers a faster resolution, it requires an internal consensus that has yet to coalesce.

The primary deterrent for many remains the succession plan. Any successful effort to remove Trump would result in the elevation of Vice President JD Vance—a prospect that continues to divide a party already struggling to define its post-Trump identity. For now, the administration remains in power, but the “secret ballot” whispers suggest the President’s grip on his own party is more fragile than it appears.
