A venomous snake sneaked into a home in Queensland, Australia, and ended up on a model train set.

Per UPI, the snake curled up in a tunnel on the train set. One of the people living in the house first thought it was a rubber toy, but soon realized it was a real snake and called a professional.

Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7, a team of expert snake handlers, sent Stuart MacKenzie to the house. He identified the scaly visitor as a brown tree snake.

According to the Australian Reptile Park, brown tree snakes are known for having bad tempers and “will strike repeatedly if they feel threatened.”

“They are colubrid snakes, which means their fangs are at the back of the mouth, so only a very large snake would be able to inject venom into a human,” the park added.

As a professional, MacKenzie knew how to safely remove the venomous snake from the train set. He recorded the process for Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7’s social media.

In the video, MacKenzie approaches the train set with a net and finds the snake curled up inside the tunnel. Using a long hook, he carefully pulls the “healthy and rather large” snake out.

“Yeah, it’s not — it’s not a rubber snake,” MacKenzie says. “There she comes, just trying to be nice and gentle.”

After coaxing the snake out of the tunnel, MacKenzie lifts it away from the train set, noting it will probably shed its skin soon.

With the tunnel clear, MacKenzie puts the snake in a netted bag and removes it from the home. The clip ends with the snake being safely released back into the wild, away from homes and businesses.
