Former U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday broadened his repeated claim of having “stopped eight wars,” telling supporters that the number rises to ten when including conflicts involving Iran and Lebanon. Speaking at a Turning Point USA event gathering, Trump again credited himself with preventing large-scale global conflicts, including tensions between India and Pakistan.

“I am the peacemaker,” Trump said, asserting he had settled a potential India-Pakistan war that “would have killed 30 to 50 million people,” according to remarks reported by ANI. He added that including Iran and Lebanon brings his tally to “10 wars ended and many, many millions of lives saved.”

Trump has frequently cited a list of geopolitical tensions he says he helped defuse, including India-Pakistan, Kosovo-Serbia, Israel-Iran, Egypt-Ethiopia, Armenia-Azerbaijan, and Congo-Rwanda. He has also argued that these efforts merit a Nobel Peace Prize—an assertion that has not been formally recognized by the Nobel Committee.

Independent verification of these claims remains limited. Many of the conflicts referenced were influenced by long-standing diplomatic processes involving multiple countries and international organizations, rather than single-party interventions.

Trump also addressed developments involving Iran, stating that the Strait of Hormuz is “fully open and ready for business,” calling it a “great and brilliant day for the world.” He credited U.S. naval strength for maintaining stability in the region, while indicating that military pressure would continue until a final agreement with Iran is signed.

He further claimed that the United States would secure “all the nuclear dust” from Iran—an unclear reference that appears to relate to nuclear materials or dismantlement efforts. Trump reiterated his longstanding position that Iran will never obtain nuclear weapons.

Highlighting what he described as a breakthrough, Trump pointed to a ceasefire involving Lebanon and Israel, calling it an achievement “everyone said was impossible.” He emphasized that negotiations with Iran are separate but suggested broader regional stabilization efforts are underway.

Trump also thanked several Middle Eastern nations—including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait—for their cooperation, describing their role as “courageous” amid tensions with Iran, which he labeled the “bully of the Middle East.”

Trump praised Pakistan and its leadership for assisting in diplomatic efforts related to Iran, calling them “fantastic people.”

He also paid tribute to Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and ally, referencing his assassination last year. Trump said Kirk’s influence continues to grow, adding that attempts to silence him had only strengthened the movement he represented.

While Trump’s remarks were met with applause from supporters, analysts note that many of the conflicts he referenced remain unresolved or were managed through multilateral diplomacy. Experts caution that such sweeping claims require careful scrutiny, particularly when tied to complex international disputes with ongoing tensions.
