Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of President John F. Kennedy, has vowed to launch a formal investigation into Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. if he secures a seat in Congress this November.
Schlossberg, 33, who is campaigning to represent New York’s 12th District, leveled sharp criticisms against his cousin’s leadership at HHS during a recent interview with MS Now. The congressional hopeful questioned the scientific validity of the Secretary’s medical claims and suggested a lack of transparency regarding the influences behind the administration’s health policy.
Investigative Priorities
If elected, Schlossberg stated he intends to utilize oversight powers to examine the Secretary’s public health directives. He specifically cited RFK Jr.’s controversial assertions linking Tylenol use to autism—a claim that lacks broad consensus in the medical community—and questioned the methodology behind the administration’s nutritional “food pyramid” revisions.
“I want to know who is paying for the words that come out of his mouth,” Schlossberg said, suggesting that the administration’s rhetoric prioritizes private interests over the struggles of working families. He further pledged to investigate what he termed “criminality” within HHS, signaling a move toward aggressive legislative oversight.
A Campaign Defined by Contrast
Schlossberg entered the race for the seat currently held by Representative Jerry Nadler in November 2025. His platform centers on addressing a “cost of living crisis” and what he describes as the “cronyism” of the current administration.
The candidate has consistently distanced himself from his cousin’s political trajectory. Schlossberg previously labeled the HHS Secretary a “propaganda aficionado” and accused him of “hijacking” the Kennedy family legacy to serve the Trump administration’s agenda.
“It’s a constitutional crisis with one dangerous man in control of all three branches of government,” Schlossberg noted in a recent campaign update. “He’s stripping citizens of their civil rights and silencing his critics.”

The race for New York’s 12th District has become a focal point for the Democratic Party’s effort to reclaim the House of Representatives. Schlossberg’s strategy relies on a mix of traditional Democratic priorities and a high-profile personal crusade against the current administration’s health policies.
