An online content creator was killed in Arizona on Friday after gunfire erupted during a roadside confrontation between drivers, Glendale police said.

Yarely Ashley Hermosillo, 27, who described herself as a reels creator with 144,000 Instagram followers, was not the intended target when the shooting broke out around 11:45 p.m., according to authorities.

Police said Hermosillo was riding as a passenger when a driver opened fire “in a random direction” following a heated exchange between two other vehicles on eastbound Camelback Road.

Jesus Preciado Dousten, 33, was arrested Saturday and faces charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, weapons misconduct, and endangerment.

According to an affidavit, Dousten — driving a GMC pickup — pulled out a black handgun during the altercation, shouted in Spanish, “You want some of this?” and fired.

Hermosillo was struck in the right eye, police said. She was pronounced dead at 1 a.m. Saturday. Witnesses told officers Dousten appeared “obviously intoxicated.”

Her family described the devastating loss, recalling the moment they learned of her death.
“I will never forget my mom’s screams when I arrived at the hospital,” said her sister, Cryshan Lopez, during a news conference Wednesday.

Hermosillo was the mother of a 3-year-old boy, and her family said her growing social media career — which focused on cooking content — was just beginning to flourish.
“She was full of dreams, plans and goals for her future — all of which were taken from her in such a cruel and senseless way,” Lopez said. “Our family is heartbroken beyond words.”

Court records show Dousten has a lengthy criminal history. In June, he was accused of punching another driver in a Phoenix road-rage incident. His past convictions include attempted vehicle theft in 2016 and 2024, unlawful flight from law enforcement in 2022, and resisting arrest and trespassing that same year.

He is currently being held on $1 million bail. Online records did not list an attorney for him as of Wednesday evening.

Police emphasized that the argument between the drivers was not criminal in nature, describing it only as “a brief verbal exchange.”
“Why the suspect chose to fire the weapon remains unknown,” Glendale police spokesman Jose Miguel Santiago said.
