After nearly a week of anxious searching, an Austin-based influencer has been reunited with his beloved dog.
In the early hours of Friday, Aug. 1, Taylor Hannan — known to over 100,000 Instagram followers as “AustinEater” — shared an emotional update: his 8-year-old terrier mix, Noodles, was finally home safe.
“But this wasn’t just luck,” Hannan wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post, detailing the events that led to Noodles’ disappearance — and the efforts that ultimately brought them back together.
The ordeal began seven days earlier, when Hannan first announced that Noodles was missing.

On July 25, as Hannan prepared to leave on a road trip with his dog, he secured Noodles in the backseat of his car and ran back into the house briefly. In those few moments, a person wearing a black hoodie jumped into the vehicle and drove off — with Noodles still inside.
Over the following days, Hannan activated his social media community and enlisted the help of local residents in a desperate search.
As reported by KVUE, the stolen car was eventually discovered about 20 miles from where it had vanished. But Noodles was no longer inside. Undeterred, Hannan organized a ground search with what he described as a “group of incredible volunteers” who canvassed the Austin area.

Despite initial setbacks, he never gave up hope.
As the story spread, a private investigator stepped forward to assist. Following a promising tip from one of Hannan’s followers, the investigator traced a lead to Del Valle, a nearby suburb east of Austin.
“He called me,” Hannan shared on Instagram. “He found Noodles. He’s safe. He’s tired. But he’s okay. And he’s home.”

Reflecting on the emotional rollercoaster, Hannan expressed deep gratitude.
“I’ve never felt more lucky — or more aware of how lucky we are,” he wrote. “So many of you were praying for us, sending kind messages, and keeping your eyes peeled. I felt that love every single day. And I also felt the weight of it. It was heartbreaking to receive so much kindness while Noodles was still out there, scared and alone. It didn’t feel fair.”
He ended his message by thanking the Austin community for their unwavering support.
“Thank you. For every share. Every message. Every late-night thought sent into the universe,” Hannan wrote. “I’ll never stop being grateful — for all of us.”
