Julien Solomita recently opened up to viewers about the heartbreaking reality that he and his wife, former YouTuber Jenna Marbles, are preparing to say goodbye to their senior chihuahua, Mr. Marbles.
While streaming on Twitch on Nov. 10, Solomita paused his gameplay to “chat” with the audience about how he’s been feeling. The dog, who turned 17 on June 6, 2025, is now facing end-of-life struggles, and the couple has been focused on keeping him comfortable.
“I didn’t want to make a whole thing about it at the start of the stream, but I’m mentally not fully here lately,” Solomita shared. “Marbles is getting really old. We’re dealing with end-of-life things… It’s sort of been all-consuming on top of everything else.”
He admitted that the emotional weight of watching Marbles’ health decline has taken a toll. “I don’t really have a lot of juice these days,” he said quietly, trying to hold back tears.
Addressing viewers directly, he acknowledged that many people understand the pain of losing a beloved pet. “I don’t want to sit here and cry about it right now,” he added, before slowly returning to his game with co-streamers.
Support quickly filled the chat, with fans sending hearts and kind messages like: “No worries at all Julien — we understand,” and “We are so happy you are here.”
Mr. Marbles has been a huge part of the couple’s internet presence and even inspired Jenna’s longtime online name. In a 2013 interview with Variety, Jenna explained that she changed her screen name from “Jenna Mourey” to “Jenna Marbles” after concerns that her YouTube videos might appear in Google searches for her real name while her mother was job-hunting.
The dog’s name itself is a reference to a ventriloquist dummy featured in the Seinfeld episode “The Chicken Roaster,” in which Jerry imagines a toy named Mr. Marbles coming to life in the night.

Jenna rose to fame on YouTube beginning in 2010 with comedy content and makeup videos, eventually amassing more than 2 billion views and over 20 million subscribers before stepping away in June 2020. In her farewell video, she explained that she wanted to ensure she wasn’t contributing anything harmful online: “I think I’m just going to move on from this channel for now.”
Julien and Jenna married in December 2022, a moment he shared on Instagram with photos from their wedding — including a sweet appearance by Mr. Marbles, who rode alongside them in a stroller.
As Solomita continues to care for Marbles through his final stage of life, fans remain supportive and connected to the couple during this emotional time.
