A lighthearted post from the Burbank Police Department featuring two friendly French bulldogs has unexpectedly turned one officer into an internet heartthrob.

The department shared the photo on Feb. 13, showing Officer Parks smiling as he holds one of the dogs during a call for service, while a second pup hangs nearby. In its caption, the department joked that the officer “could not resist petting, holding and snapping a photo,” adding, “Police officers love dogs.”

The sweet moment quickly gained traction online — and not just because of the dogs.

As the image spread across Instagram, commenters flooded the post with praise for Officer Parks. One person joked that they had “lost” their dogs in Burbank and needed his help, while another playfully asked if he could assist in finding a pet that had passed away years ago.

Others piled on with over-the-top “confessions” in hopes of getting his attention. “I committed a crime, please come arrest me,” one commenter teased. Another chimed in, “Who wants to do crime with me in Burbank so they can send Officer Parks to arrest us?”

The post has since surpassed 350,000 likes and drawn thousands of comments. In the days that followed, the department appeared to embrace the unexpected attention, liking tongue-in-cheek replies and sharing TV coverage of the moment on its Instagram Story, set to Foo Fighters’ “My Hero.”

Officials also used the viral spotlight to highlight their work and encourage potential recruits, directing interested viewers to information about joining the department.
