A 65-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after being attacked by a group of dogs while walking his dog in Scotland.
Around 5:05 p.m. local time on Friday, Sept. 19, emergency services responded to reports of a “group of dogs setting upon a man and his dog” in Cambuslang, on the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland, Police said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.
“A 65-year-old man attended hospital for treatment and his dog was taken to a veterinary practice,” a Scotland Police spokesperson said.

The extent of the injuries to the man and his dog has not been shared at this time.
A witness told local news outlet Glasgow Live that they saw the man being “attacked” by five dogs, which were “Bullies and Staffys.”
A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, according to Police Scotland. His identity has not yet been released.
“The 27-year-old will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal,” police said.
