Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, took aim at President Donald Trump on Sunday over his schedule of high-level meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Zelensky today. Netanyahu tomorrow. Can we just do America?” Greene wrote on X.
Trump met with Zelensky on Sunday in Palm Beach, Florida, and is set to meet with Netanyahu on Monday as part of his ongoing diplomatic push related to major international conflicts.
Why It Matters
Greene was once among Trump’s most reliable allies. But after repeated clashes—spanning issues such as the Epstein Files and foreign policy—Trump publicly labeled her a traitor and withdrew his support and endorsement. Greene has since said she will resign from Congress.
What To Know
Since the start of his second term, Trump has played an outsized role in efforts tied to the wars involving Ukraine and Israel, presenting himself as a key figure in attempts to bring the conflicts to an end.
Greene, however, has consistently opposed U.S. military aid to both countries, breaking with more traditional Republican foreign policy views. Earlier this year, she criticized the Trump administration for signing a deal with Ukraine that would provide additional war funding in exchange for access to critical minerals. She has also described Zelensky as “a dictator who canceled elections” and became the first Republican to call the humanitarian crisis in Gaza a “genocide.”
Last month, Greene said she would step back from Congress, arguing she no longer wanted to be treated like a “battered wife” amid her fallout with Trump. In a lengthy statement, she said she had “too much self respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms.”
What People Are Saying
Greene wrote on X in January: “President Trump and our new Secretary of State Marco Rubio just stopped all foreign aid to Ukraine and other countries, except Israel and Egypt. The State Department is shocked. The American people are not, we are celebrating.”
What’s Next
Trump is scheduled to meet with Netanyahu on Monday.
Greene’s last day in Congress is set for January 5, 2026. A special election will be held to fill her seat in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District.
