Now, a new report suggests that friction may have surfaced again ahead of a major public moment for the First Lady.
Melania’s documentary premiere reportedly excludes Ivanka
Melania—a documentary said to follow the first 20 days leading up to Donald Trump’s second presidential inauguration from Melania’s perspective—is set to premiere at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on January 29, with additional screenings planned for friends and supporters in 20 cities.
The film is directed by Brett Ratner and is being released by Amazon MGM Studios as part of a reported $40 million deal with Amazon. It’s scheduled to open in theaters on January 30, followed by streaming availability on Amazon Prime Video.
According to the report, while the premiere is expected to draw high-profile attendees—including Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez—Ivanka’s name is reportedly missing from the guest list.
Sources claim the decision was intentional
One insider quoted by Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop characterized the alleged omission as deliberate, claiming Melania wants the focus entirely on herself. Another source reportedly suggested the premiere is meant to be “front and center” for Melania, “no interruptions,” and that Ivanka “knows her place.”
Ivanka is said to be “hurt,” but not surprised
The report also claims Ivanka was stung by the apparent snub, even if she expected it. The same account suggests she may not appear in the documentary at all.
A source attributed a quote to Ivanka saying that while it “hurts,” she isn’t surprised. As for a last-minute reconciliation—or a united red-carpet appearance—the report frames that as unlikely, though it notes the evening could still bring surprises.
