First Lady Melania Trump looked back on the 2025 inauguration anniversary by sharing black-and-white images from the day’s major events surrounding President Donald Trump’s swearing-in.

“A year ago today, I was entrusted to serve our country once again. Being First Lady is not just a privilege; it is a profound responsibility,” the 55-year-old wrote in a Tuesday, Jan. 20 post on X.

“As we continue on this journey together, we must remember that hope is a powerful force, and that our vision to create a brighter future for all is within reach,” she added.

Her post included a video-style slideshow capturing moments from throughout the day — from the swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol to the inaugural parade at the Capitol One Arena and later the Liberty Ball at the Washington Convention Center.

Donald Trump, 79, was sworn into office on Jan. 20, 2025, in a ceremony that was moved inside the Capitol Rotunda at the last minute due to freezing weather.

Over the past year, the president’s return to office has been marked by repeated controversy and political turbulence, including ICE raids, a mass restructuring of the federal workforce, criticism over the administration’s handling of evidence tied to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, high-profile White House renovations, and foreign-policy moves that critics say have left the United States increasingly isolated on the global stage.

A new CNN/SSRS poll found that 58% of Americans view Donald’s first year back in office as “a failure,” while 39% approve of how he is handling the presidency.

Melania’s message arrived just days ahead of the release of her self-titled documentary. Amazon MGM Studios reportedly purchased the rights to the project for $40 million.

“I’ve seen pieces of it, it’s incredible,” the president recently said when asked about the film. “I think it’s going to do very— you know, she did a book and the book was a big number one bestseller, and this is a movie, and it seems to be captivating a lot of people’s attention.”

Melania has promised viewers “exclusive footage of critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments” from the period leading up to the 2025 inauguration. The documentary is set to premiere at the newly rebranded Kennedy Center on Jan. 29 before arriving in theaters the following day.
