Police in Washington state are searching for a 15-year-old girl who hasn’t been seen in more than a month.

Ashlynn Hanley was last seen on Dec. 10 wearing a pink puffy jacket, and investigators believe she may have been headed toward Seattle, the Port Orchard Police Department said.

In a later update, Port Orchard police said they want to speak with Lavelle Cotton, 45, in connection with Ashlynn’s disappearance.

Cotton drives a 2011 Buick Enclave — the same vehicle Ashlynn was seen getting into shortly before she went missing, Fox 13 reported.

Ashlynn’s mother, Jade Hanley, told NBC that her daughter had been released from a juvenile detention center just days before her disappearance and was wearing an ankle monitor.

At the time, Ashlynn was staying with her grandmother. Jade told NBC that her grandmother took Ashlynn to school on Dec. 10.

Later, the ankle monitor was found cut off and last pinged near a bowling alley, NBC reported. Authorities also released surveillance footage that reportedly shows Ashlynn getting into the Buick registered to Cotton on Dec. 10, according to NBC.

Police described Ashlynn as 5-foot-1 with brown hair and brown eyes, weighing about 102 pounds.

Cotton — who police say also uses the nicknames Money Making Prince and Little P Dog — is described as 5-foot-9 and about 130 pounds.

“We’ve been in contact with an individual identifying as Mr. Cotton on the phone,” Port Orchard Deputy Chief Alan Iwashita told NBC, adding that investigators have not yet spoken with him in person.

Cotton has not been accused of a crime.
