Billionaire investor Nelson Peltz has weighed in — carefully — on the public tension involving his daughter Nicola Peltz Beckham, son-in-law Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, and the Beckham family.

Speaking onstage at the WSJ Invest Live event on Tuesday, Feb. 3, the 83-year-old was asked about the spotlight surrounding his family after Brooklyn recently posted a series of pointed statements that confirmed a rift with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, and included claims tied to his April 2022 wedding to Nicola.

Wall Street Journal reporter Lauren Thomas framed the question by referencing Peltz’s background in “negotiating high-stakes situations, particularly playing out in public view,” and the attention recently focused on Nicola. Peltz responded with a joke: “Has my family been in the press lately? I haven’t noticed that at all.”

When asked whether he had offered advice to his family on handling “such situations,” he said he had — and then made his stance clear: “I do. My advice is to stay the hell out of the press. How much good did that do?”

Peltz didn’t dive into specifics of the dispute, but he did publicly defend Nicola and Brooklyn. “My daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story,” he said, adding that it wasn’t something to unpack onstage. He concluded by saying, “I’ll tell you my daughter’s great, my son-law Brooklyn is great, and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together.”

Peltz, who shares eight children including Nicola with wife Claudia Heffner Peltz, has not spoken on the situation since Brooklyn posted multiple claims on Instagram Stories about his relationship with his parents.

Brooklyn, 26, wrote on Jan. 19, “I have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”

He added, “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

Amid the continuing fallout, a source with knowledge of the situation said David and Victoria have repeatedly urged Brooklyn and Nicola to meet and talk to move forward. “David loves his kids,” the source said, referencing Brooklyn and his younger siblings. Another insider previously described the situation as painful but not necessarily permanent, saying the family still cares deeply, even as they feel hurt by Brooklyn’s distance.

Brooklyn’s social media statement painted a different picture, claiming that he and Nicola traveled to London for David’s 50th birthday last year but were “rejected” by David and Victoria.

The strain has been building for months, and during that time Brooklyn has been seen frequently with the Peltz family. On Dec. 26, 2025, Nicola shared holiday photos on Instagram featuring her parents and Brooklyn. Brooklyn also appeared at Nelson Peltz’s 83rd birthday celebration last June, after skipping David Beckham’s milestone birthday events in London the month before.

Peltz has also shown support publicly in the past. In August, he served as the officiant for Nicola and Brooklyn’s vow renewal ceremony, where Nicola repurposed her mother’s wedding dress.
