Nicki Minaj revealed she has a Trump Gold Card just hours after publicly backing President Donald Trump at the Trump Accounts Summit — and she’s making it clear what she says it’s for.
The Trinidad-born rapper posted a photo of the card on X on Wednesday, Jan. 28, with a short caption: “Welp.”
The image appeared to be taken the same day. A sliver of her white coat and her multicolored nails were visible — matching what she wore earlier Wednesday.
As the post spread widely, Minaj followed up with another message addressing speculation about her status.
“Residency? Residency? The cope is coping. 😅 Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President. Thanks to the petition. 📋 I wouldn’t have done it without you. Oh CitizenNIKA you are thee moment. Gold Trump card free of charge,” she wrote.
The White House also reposted Minaj’s original image, adding: “ oh she’s super BASED ✨ http://trumpcard.gov.”
What the Trump Gold Card is — and what it costs
The Trump Gold Card is described on its official website as a “visa based upon an individual’s ability to provide a substantial benefit to the United States.”
According to the same site, applicants must pay a nonrefundable $15,000 Department of Human Services (DHS) processing fee. After “careful consideration,” an “in-depth background check,” and a vetting process through U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, applicants are notified if they’ve been approved.
The website also says applicants must provide a $1 million “gift” intended to serve as “evidence that the individual will substantially benefit the United States.”
If approved, the site states that the applicant would receive lawful permanent resident status as an EB-1 or EB-2 visa holder.

Minaj’s appearance at the Trump Accounts Summit
Earlier Wednesday, Minaj appeared at the Trump Accounts Summit. Trump Accounts creates “tax-advantaged investment accounts of U.S. citizens under the age of 18,” according to its website.
The White House says the plan would cover U.S. citizens born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, and would “launch with a one-time $1,000 government seed contribution.”
Minaj plans to contribute between $150,000 and $300,000 to the Trump accounts, according to CNBC.
At the event, she said she’s “probably the president’s No. 1 fan, and that’s not going to change.”
“The hate — or what people have to say — it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more,” she said. “And it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.”
“We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him. He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him. Amen?” Minaj continued.
She also promoted her appearance on X, writing that the event represents “the true meaning of paying it forward,” adding that it made her “very happy.”
After the summit, Minaj and Trump filmed a TikTok together in which Minaj called Trump her “favorite president” and the “best president of all time.”
