Stephanie Robitaille and her husband recently learned the hard way how quickly a calm family photo can unravel.

In a now-viral TikTok video, Robitaille and her husband, Ty, sit on the ground preparing to snap a picture with their family of three. Their baby daughter sits between them, dressed in a white bonnet, pink stockings, and a plaid onesie, calmly staring at the camera as Ty helps her stand.

Text over the clip reads, “Bribing our toddler with anything to take one photo with us,” capturing a scenario familiar to many parents. Seconds later, the mood shifts. Ty becomes distracted and briefly removes the hand supporting their baby’s stomach.

“But then Ty forgets his one job is to hold the baby…” the on-screen text explains as their daughter tips forward and falls. The moment replays in slow motion before Robitaille quickly scoops her up, shooting her husband a sharp look as their daughter begins to cry.

At the end of the video, Robitaille cradles her baby and waves her husband’s hand away, adding a final caption over his stunned expression: “In this moment he knew he f—- up.”

Looking back, Robitaille explains that the mishap happened during a Thanksgiving photo attempt that quickly turned chaotic.

“We were trying to get a family photo on Thanksgiving — something anyone with a toddler knows can turn into a whole production,” she says. “We were mid-bribe with our 3-year-old when things went sideways.”

According to Robitaille, Ty was juggling responsibilities when the distraction happened. “Ty was holding the baby while our toddler tugged on him, and in the chaos, he momentarily forgot he was holding her,” she explains. “She fell face-first to the ground.”

Though the moment was stressful at first, the couple says the situation quickly became something they could laugh about.

“We were both in shock for a few seconds, but once she calmed down and we knew she was okay, we were able to laugh — especially realizing the entire moment was caught on video,” Robitaille says.
