Police are pursuing new leads in the search for Savannah Guthrie’s missing 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, who was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona, home early Sunday morning, Feb. 1.
After authorities released new surveillance footage showing a masked intruder entering Nancy’s home, the FBI and local law enforcement began following up on fresh tips tied to the case. Investigators have also contacted Ring doorbell camera users who live near Nancy’s home in the Catalina Foothills area to request video from specific dates.
Police are seeking footage from Jan. 11 between 9 p.m. and midnight local time, as well as footage from Jan. 31 between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., the day before the abduction. A neighbor, Laura Gargano, said the request was sent through the Ring app and noted that officers referenced a “suspicious vehicle” seen in the area.
Authorities said they have “recovered several items of evidence, including gloves,” and added that all viable evidence has been submitted for analysis.
On Wednesday, Feb. 11, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said investigators are still working under the belief that Nancy is alive. That same day, the FBI’s Phoenix office said it conducted an “extensive search” of the area, including multiple roadways in the Catalina Foothills.

Nancy was last seen the evening of Jan. 31, when she was dropped off at her home at about 9:48 p.m. after dinner with her daughter, Annie Guthrie, and her son-in-law. She was reported missing the next day at around 12:03 p.m. after family members learned she had not joined friends for a church livestream.
On Tuesday, Feb. 10, the FBI released doorbell camera footage that appears to show a masked intruder outside Nancy’s home. In the video, the individual is seen attempting to obstruct the camera with plants pulled from the front yard.

Since Nancy disappeared, several media outlets have reported receiving alleged ransom notes believed to be linked to her potential kidnappers. A first deadline was reportedly set for 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, followed by a second for 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9.

Savannah Guthrie and her two siblings have also shared multiple appeals on social media urging whoever is responsible to return their mother. On Feb. 4, they posted a video asking for proof that she is alive, and on Saturday, Feb. 7, they shared another emotional message saying, “We will pay.”
