Support and concern are flooding in for Kai Trump, 18, after a disturbing incident earlier this month involving an intruder at Mar-a-Lago, the private Florida estate owned by her grandfather, President Donald Trump.

According to authorities, 22-year-old Anthony Thomas Reyes was arrested shortly after midnight after jumping the wall at the Palm Beach property for the second time. He reportedly told officers he was there to “spread the gospel” to President Trump — and to marry his granddaughter, Kai.

It remains unclear whether Kai was present at Mar-a-Lago at the time, but the nature of the incident has raised serious concerns about her safety.

Now a social media influencer with a large following on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, Kai Trump has become a public figure in her own right. The alarming situation has left many of her supporters shaken, with fans posting messages like, “Praying for her” and “That’s terrifying — no one deserves this.”

A talented high school golfer, Kai recently announced her verbal commitment to the University of Miami.

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Miami,” she wrote at the time. “I’d like to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for always supporting me… and my Grandpa for giving me access to great courses and tremendous support.”

The University of Miami’s student newspaper addressed the incident in a recent op-ed, urging the campus community to support and respect Kai as she begins her college journey.

“The UM community must do its part to let Kai Trump be a student,” the article stated. “We must remember that political relatives, regardless of public opinion, deserve the same safety and privacy as anyone else.”

The editorial also called on the university to work closely with Trump’s security team to ensure Kai’s safety, and encouraged students to treat her with kindness and inclusion — whether it’s by walking with her to class or simply letting her feel like part of the campus community.

Regardless of political beliefs, one thing is clear: no college student should have to worry about stalkers or threats to their safety.

As one fan put it: “Whatever you think of her family, Kai deserves to be safe and live her life like any other young woman.”
