President Donald Trump is set to begin his Fourth of July celebrations with a special event in Iowa, marking the start of festivities leading up to America’s 250th anniversary.
In a post shared Tuesday on Truth Social, the president announced plans to travel to Des Moines on Thursday, July 3, for what he described as a “very special event” at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
“I am thrilled to announce that I will be traveling to one of my favorite places in the world, beautiful Iowa, on Thursday, July 3rd, to kick off the very beginning of our exciting Celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary!” Trump wrote.
He praised the state’s voters, adding, “Iowa voted for me THREE TIMES, because they love my policies for our wonderful farmers and small businesses, and they LOVE AMERICA! This will be a very special event, honoring our great country and our brave heroes who fought to keep us FREE.”
Trump also hinted at announcements related to trade and agriculture, promising, “You are going to be very happy with what I say — Should be a BIG Crowd!”
The event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, with an RSVP link included in the post.
The appearance in Iowa marks the start of Trump’s participation in nationwide celebrations of America’s semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the country’s founding.
