Relative Says Crying Woman Who Made ‘Domestic Dispute’ 911 Call ‘100%’ Wasn’t Ohio Dentist’s Wife

A 911 call described as a “domestic dispute,” which authorities traced to the home of Monique and Spencer Tepe months before the couple were found slain, was not placed by Monique, according to a relative.

Rob Misleh, Monique’s brother-in-law, pushed back on reports about the April call released this week in which a woman can be heard crying while referencing a “domestic dispute.”

“I one hundred percent know that is not Monique’s voice,” Misleh said, adding that the voice didn’t sound familiar to him.

Misleh also suggested the call may have been associated with the location without involving the couple. “Whatever FOX News showed, I think it just maybe pinged at their address, that’s probably a neighbor,” he said. “It’s so obviously not Monique’s voice. It’s not them.”

The call, placed in the middle of the night on April 15, includes a woman who is audibly upset. She tells the dispatcher she no longer needs help and says she was simply being “emotional.” When asked why she called, she responds: “because me and my man got into it, but I’m OK, I promise.”

Misleh previously told the Surviving The Survivor Podcast that the 911 call happened during a party at the Tepes’ home. He now says that account was about a different incident from years earlier and that he confused the timeline.

Even so, he remains adamant that the woman in the April call is not Monique—pointing to the wording used in the recording.

“She said ‘my man,’ I don’t know who that could’ve been,” Misleh said, adding that Monique didn’t speak that way.

He also said he shared a video from the couple’s wedding in which Monique speaks, arguing that her voice is clearly different from the recording circulated publicly.

Monique, 39, and her husband Spencer, 37, were found slain in their home on Dec. 30 after Columbus police received calls requesting a welfare check.

Their two children were found inside the residence and were physically unharmed. They are now being cared for by extended family members, including Misleh and his wife.

A GoFundMe has been created to support the children, ages 4 and 1.

The killings are being investigated as homicides. Authorities previously told WSYX and CNN there were no weapons found and no signs of a break-in.

More than a week into the investigation, many details remain unclear.

Detectives released grainy surveillance footage on Monday showing a hooded person they say is of interest to the investigation. The figure is seen walking calmly in an alley near the couple’s home around the time investigators believe the killings occurred.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at (614) 645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS (8477).
