President Donald Trump signaled a renewed confidence in his spiritual standing this Palm Sunday, sharing a private letter from prominent evangelist Franklin Graham that assures the 79-year-old leader of his place in heaven.

The correspondence, which Trump posted to Truth Social on March 29, identifies his role in brokering the October 2025 Israel-Hamas ceasefire as a divine qualification for salvation. Graham, the son of the late Rev. Billy Graham, cited the Beatitudes in the letter, labeling the President a “peacemaker.”

The letter, dated October 15, 2025, followed the successful negotiation of a truce and the return of hostages in the Middle East. Graham addressed Trump’s previous public admissions of doubt regarding his eternal fate, specifically referencing the President’s recent comments that he might be “at the bottom of the totem pole” spiritually.

“The cease-fire between Israel and Hamas and the hostages being returned home are incredible accomplishments,” Graham wrote. “Jesus said, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers’ (Matthew 5:9)—and Mr. President, that is what you are.”

The exchange highlights a recurring theme in Trump’s late-2025 rhetoric. During an October press briefing aboard Air Force One, Trump told reporters he was “not sure” he would make it to heaven, despite his belief that he had “made life a lot better for a lot of people.”

Graham’s letter directly countered these self-deprecating remarks, emphasizing that salvation is not earned through “prominence” or “success.”

“The only One who can save us from Hell is Jesus Christ,” Graham noted. “If you accept that by faith and invite Him to come into your heart, you ARE heaven bound, I promise you.”

The timing of the post, occurring during the onset of Holy Week, underscores Trump’s continued reliance on his Evangelical base. The President has previously leveraged his spiritual journey for political engagement, notably referencing the July 2024 assassination attempt in fundraising emails to suggest a providential return to the White House.

While Trump previously characterized his doubts as being “a little cute” with the press, the release of Graham’s letter suggests a more calculated effort to align his diplomatic record with theological validation. The White House has not issued a formal statement on the letter, though the Truth Social post has already garnered significant engagement from the President’s supporters.
