A sudden surge in the Rio Ruidoso River near Hollywood—just east of Ruidoso, New Mexico—triggered a flash flood emergency on Tuesday afternoon. According to data from NOAA, the river rose 20 feet in just 30 minutes around 4 p.m. MDT. The dramatic rise has led to significant flooding throughout the region.

Shocking videos from the area show entire structures being swept away by the raging river. One viral clip captured a house floating downstream behind Downshift Brewing in Village Ruidoso.
