Savannah Guthrie and her relatives are not suspects in the disappearance of their mother, Nancy Guthrie, authorities said.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in a statement Monday, Feb. 16, that the Guthrie family—including all siblings and spouses—has been cleared as possible suspects. He added that the family has cooperated fully with investigators and should be viewed as victims in the case.

The family had not been officially identified as suspects by law enforcement, but speculation has circulated since Nancy, 84, was last seen after family members dropped her off at her home on Jan. 31.

Investigators recently obtained a warrant and searched the home of Savannah’s sister, Annie Guthrie, and her husband, Tommaso Cioni.

Authorities believe a masked figure seen on Nancy’s doorbell camera kidnapped her in the early morning hours of Feb. 1. Investigators have also collected DNA that does not belong to Nancy or any of her family members, and are working to determine who it belongs to. Officials have not said where the DNA was found.

A glove discovered about two miles away is also being examined; the FBI has said it appears to match the gloves worn by the intruder seen in the footage.

Local and national outlets have also received alleged ransom notes connected to Nancy’s disappearance. On Saturday, Feb. 7, Savannah and her siblings posted an emotional video on Instagram saying, “We will pay” for Nancy’s return.

Savannah, a co-anchor of NBC News’ Today, has been off the morning show for two weeks as she and her family remain in Arizona.
