The sister of slain expectant mother Rebecca Park has been released from a Michigan jail.

An employee at the Wexford County Jail confirmed that Rebecca’s sister, Kimberly Park, was released on Wednesday, Dec. 3, after posting bail. Rebecca’s fiancé, Richard Falor, was also released from the same facility that day after posting bail.

Kimberly, 21, and Falor, 43, were freed one day after Rebecca’s mother, Cortney Bartholomew, and stepfather, Bradly Bartholomew, were charged with murdering the 22-year-old, who was 38 weeks pregnant when she vanished just before midnight on Nov. 3.

Rebecca’s body was found on Nov. 25 in the Manistee National Forest, three days after she was due to give birth to her first child. Within hours of that discovery, Kimberly was arrested and booked into custody in the early morning hours of Nov. 26.

She was later arraigned on charges of tampering with evidence, lying to a police officer and filing a false report, according to court records. Authorities and prosecutors have not publicly explained what those charges specifically relate to, or why her initial bail was set at $750,000 — an amount typically reserved for serious violent offenses or individuals with significant financial resources.

Falor was arraigned in the same courtroom on two counts of delivering methamphetamine, court documents show. His bail was initially set at $1 million for reasons that have not been fully detailed.

On Wednesday, the judge reduced the bail for both Kimberly and Falor to $5,000 each. After posting 10 percent of that amount, they were released following a week in custody. Kimberly is now on house arrest and must wear a GPS monitoring bracelet at all times as a condition of her release. She is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 9 for a probable cause hearing.

Falor is not under house arrest and is not required to wear a GPS device, but he is also due back in court on Dec. 9 for a preliminary hearing in his case. As a repeat offender, he faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted on the drug charges.

Meanwhile, Rebecca’s death remains at the center of a horrifying criminal case. Her mother, Cortney, and stepfather, Bradly, were arrested and accused of her murder. Wexford County Prosecutor Johanna Carey said in court this week that Rebecca was still alive when the couple allegedly cut her unborn child from her womb.

Carey told the court that the pair lured Rebecca to their home on Nov. 3 and then stabbed and tortured her in what she described as “evil personified.” She said the couple then forced Rebecca into another vehicle, drove her into the woods, stabbed her again, forced her to lie on the ground while they cut out her baby, and ultimately caused the deaths of both mother and child.

Rebecca was left to die in the woods in what Carey called a “case of premeditated torture and murder.”

Cortney and Bradly are each charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, conspiracy to commit torture, assault on a pregnant individual causing miscarriage or stillbirth, and conspiracy to commit assault on a pregnant individual causing miscarriage or stillbirth. They also face one count each of unlawful imprisonment and removal of a dead body.

The couple was arrested on Dec. 1 and booked into the same jail where Kimberly and Falor had been held. The Bartholomews have not yet entered pleas, and their public defenders have not responded to requests for comment.

Before her arrest, Cortney posted a video on Facebook in which her son stated that his mother was home when he went to bed on the night of Nov. 3 and was also home when he woke up the next morning.
