Professional soccer star Jorginho has issued a scathing public rebuke of pop sensation Chappell Roan, alleging the singer’s security team harassed his 11-year-old daughter during a breakfast encounter at a luxury hotel in Brazil.
The Arsenal midfielder, 34, detailed the incident in a series of social media posts on Saturday, March 21, claiming the confrontation left the young girl—a self-described fan of the “Pink Pony Club” singer—in tears.
According to Jorginho, the incident occurred at the Palácio Tangará in São Paulo, where both the athlete’s family and Roan, 28, were staying ahead of the singer’s Lollapalooza Brasil performance.
Jorginho alleges that his stepdaughter, Ada Law—the daughter of his wife, Catherine Harding, and actor Jude Law—recognized Roan in the dining area. While the child reportedly “simply walked past the singer’s table” to confirm her identity without speaking or requesting an interaction, Jorginho claims Roan’s security intervention was immediate and disproportionate.
“A large security guard came over to their table… and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner,” Jorginho wrote. “[He said] she shouldn’t allow my daughter to ‘disrespect’ or ‘harass’ other people.”
The athlete further alleged the guard threatened to file a formal complaint with hotel management against the minor, causing her significant emotional distress.

The controversy highlights a growing friction between Roan and her fanbase. While Roan has been a vocal advocate for “strict boundaries,” frequently calling out what she deems “predatory” behavior from fans and paparazzi, Jorginho argued this instance crossed a line into the mistreatment of a child.
“I understand very well what respect and boundaries are,” Jorginho stated, citing his own career in the public eye. “What happened there was not that. It was just a child admiring someone.”

Jorginho concluded his statement with a direct message to the singer: “WITHOUT YOUR FANS, YOU WOULD BE NOTHING.”
Representatives for Chappell Roan and the Palácio Tangará have not yet issued statements regarding the allegations. Catherine Harding corroborated her husband’s account, sharing images of a hand-drawn sign the 11-year-old had prepared for Roan’s concert prior to the incident.
As of Saturday afternoon, Roan’s scheduled performance at Lollapalooza Brasil remains unchanged.
