Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were allegedly in the room when Ryan Reynolds confronted Justin Baldoni about concerns that Blake Lively was being fat-shamed during work on It Ends With Us.

Details of the encounter appear in a newly unsealed exhibit from the ongoing legal battle, which includes a timeline of events emailed in July 2024 from Wayfarer Studios co-founder Jamey Heath’s team to Baldoni’s publicist.

According to that document, on April 25, 2023, Baldoni went to Reynolds and Lively’s New York City penthouse, where Reynolds allegedly “unloaded” on him about “how horrible it was” that Baldoni would ask about a woman’s weight. Reynolds and Lively reportedly claimed that Baldoni “was fat shaming Blake,” and Baldoni was described as “completely embarrassed,” apologizing and even becoming tearful.

The recap also notes that the couple’s famous friends Swift, 35, and Jackman, 57, “were also present in the apt at the time” of the meeting.

Lively, 38, sued her costar and director Baldoni, 41, and others in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation — allegations he denies. The trial is currently scheduled for March 2026.

Swift and Jackman are among the potential witnesses previously listed by Lively’s legal team.

Jackman publicly supported Lively by attending the Aug. 9, 2024 New York City premiere of It Ends With Us, where he posed with Lively and Reynolds, 49. He and Lively also appeared together on the cover of Vogue‘s September 2024 issue.

Swift’s name has surfaced repeatedly in the legal dispute. Baldoni’s lawyers attempted to subpoena her in May.

At the time, the singer’s representative issued a statement distancing her from the project: “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history.”

The rep clarified that “the connection Taylor had to this film was permitting the use of one song, ‘My Tears Ricochet,’ ” and claimed her name was being used “to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”

TMZ previously reported that during a meeting between Lively, Reynolds and Baldoni to discuss a rewritten scene, Swift arrived at Lively’s penthouse without knowing what was taking place there. According to the outlet, a source close to Swift said the singer believed Lively “timed her meeting” so that Swift would cross paths with Baldoni.

“Justin was about to leave after the 2-hour meeting as Taylor walked in, and she was introduced to him for the first and only time,” the source told TMZ, which reported that Swift expressed enthusiasm about the film to Baldoni “because he was her friend’s boss.”

In her amended complaint, Lively’s lawyers accused Baldoni of “finding back-channel ways of criticizing her body and weight” during production. Lively “was humiliated to learn that Mr. Baldoni secretly called her fitness trainer without her knowledge or permission, and implied that he wanted her to lose weight in two weeks,” the filing alleges.

In a $400 million countersuit — later dismissed by the judge — Baldoni’s attorneys argued that he contacted Lively’s trainer “to ask what Lively weighed so that he could train his back muscles in preparation for a lift scene.” They said he wanted to “avoid injury” because he “suffered from lifelong back injuries.”

During the April 2023 penthouse meeting, Baldoni’s complaint claims an “angry” Reynolds “screamed at Baldoni and accused him of fat-shaming his wife,” allegedly saying, “How dare you f—ing ask about my wife’s weight? What’s wrong with you?”

According to Baldoni’s lawyers, the “confrontation by Reynolds and Lively was so aggressive that Baldoni felt he had no choice but to offer repeated (and completely unwarranted) apologies for what was a good faith and reasonable question to ask” the trainer.

Baldoni further alleged that Reynolds “berated” him in a separate meeting in January 2024. His attorney Bryan Freedman later told Page Six that Reynolds was “angry,” “stern” and “impassioned” during that discussion but maintained that Reynolds did not “aggressively berate” Baldoni, noting, “The definition of berate is to scold or criticize angrily.”
